Lewis is in his final year at The University of Queensland, studying a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Software. Having started his professional career as a software developer over three years ago, he has experience in a range of technologies and enjoys learning new ones. He is currently doing his thesis, with the supervision of Dr Arindam Dey, on using augmented reality and tangible blocks to teach a foreign language. Lewis has always been interested in augmented reality and is interested to see the impact it can have in the pragmatic area of teaching a second language.
Learning a second language is a useful exercise in many ways. However, the process of learning is not straightforward. This project explores novel methods of learning languages using augmented reality and tangible user interfaces.
